February Wrap Up
What an amazing couple of weeks it has been for CREST athletes! Two weeks ago our swimmers got the ball rolling, seeing early success in the pool at both Festival and OYJ Championships. CREST continued its run of provincial small team victories earning banners as Small Team Champions at both competitions. Numerous PBs were achieved at both meets and a High Point Award was presented to one of our very own!
CREST was well represented this past weekend at the Etobicoke Olympium by the 25 athletes who all raced their hearts out at Central Region C Championships. Nearly 80% of CREST swims were PBs this past weekend, which came alongside a hefty hardware haul as well!
We saw a brilliant showcase of who we are as a team at all three competitions and what we are able to achieve together. We could not be more proud as a coaching staff to see our young athletes represent themselves and our team so well across all levels of competition. There was much acknowledgement around the pool decks for the excellence CREST proudly put on display.
We now look forward to this coming weekend with great anticipation and excitement. CREST will have a group of 8 athletes competing amongst the fastest swimmers in the province at the Ontario Swimming Championships at TPASC, beginning this Thursday, February 29th. We anticipate some incredible racing as this group is motivated and inspired by what their teammates have already accomplished this month. It will be a challenge, but our small-but-mighty group of 8 looks to secure the 3rd Winter Provincial Banner for CREST this weekend!
