Crest Swimmers Named to Swimming Canada’s “2018 Summer ID Team”
In October 2018, Crest swimmers Kevin Park and Benjamin Loewen were named to Swimming Canada’s “2018 Summer ID Team”. The ID Team selection is an initiative of the National Development Teams Program that endeavours to provide Canada’s identified swimmers and their coaches, with the development opportunities to establish the will, attitude and skills required to race to the podium at the Senior International level.
Each season Swimming Canada names four single aged National Development Teams Program “ID” teams for each gender. Age is determined by year of birth, with 66 male and 54 female swimmers identified for the Summer Team.
Kevin Park is 15 years old and has been on the Crest team for six years. Kevin was recognized for several finishing times including 100 Fly, 100 and 200 Breast, 200 IM and 400 IM.
Benjamin Loewen is 14 years old and has been swimming with Crest since 2010. Benjamin was recognized for finishing times including 100 and 200 Fly, 200 and 400 IM and 200 Breast.
Swimmers are named to the Swimming Canada “Summer ID Team” as a result of swimming one of the posted ID Team Times in the 2018 Summer Peak Performance Window (July 1–August 31) and means the swimmer has been identified as an athlete with the potential for high performance. Kevin and Benjamin were also named to the “Spring ID Team” in 2018.
