Small Team OYJ Champions!
Crest took home another Swim Ontario Small Team Award at the Ontario Youth Junior Championship held March 7-10 at the Markham Pan Am Pool. The award recognizes small teams of 50 or fewer athletes who earn the most points – in individual or relay events – by placing in the top eight spots in competition events.
Swimmers representing Crest at the Ontario Youth Junior Championship included: Adam Bayley, Michael Bayley, Taylor Bird, Wyatt Carling, Samantha Chalmers, Kelly Guan, Cezar Hirsescu, Quezon Mineque, Jake Prokosch, Bronwyn Remus, Amilia Skula, Ashley Tinney, Tomi Tufford and Frederic Yoon
Individual medals went to:
Kelly Guan: Gold in 100m freestyle and Bronze in 200 I.M.
Cezar Hirsescu: Gold in 800m and 1500m free and Silver in 400m free
Quezon Mineque: Silver in 50m freestyle
Frederic Yoon: Gold in 50m and 100m free, Gold in 100m breast; and Bronze in 200IM
The Boys 15&O 400 Meter Medley Relay Team won Bronze with Adam Bayley, Frederic Yoon, Michael Bayley and Jake Prokosch.

CREST Wins the Small Team Banner for third year in a row!
It’s a Three-peat! Crest Swimming Wins Swim Ontario’s Small Team Award at the 2019 Spring Provincials for Third Year in a Row
Crest took home Swim Ontario’s Small Team Award at the 2019 Spring Provincial Championships in Etobicoke, Ontario, held February 28 to March 3, 2019. This is the third year in a row Crest has won the Ontario Small Team Award which is bestowed upon the small team with the most points, which are earned by swimmers – in individual or relay events – who place in the top eight spots in competition events.
Swimmers representing Crest at the Spring Provincial Championships included: Taylor Bird, Wyatt Carling, Kelly Guan, Benjamin Loewen, Kevin Park, Lucas Park, Jake Prokosch and Frederic Yoon.
Individual medals went to: Kevin Park (winner of the boys 16 year old high point award), who was Provincial Champion in the 200 Breast, 400 IM, 200 Back and 200IM, and won silver in the 200 Fly and bronze for 100 Back and 100 Fly; Benjamin Loewen (category: male, aged 15) who was Provincial Champion for 400IM, 200 Fly and 200IM and won bronze in 200m Back and 100 Fly; and Lucas Park (category: male, aged 14) who won silver in 50 Free and bronze in 100 Free. Rounding out the boys 15&U relay team with Ben and Lucas were Jake Prokosch and Frederic Yoon who took silver in the 200 Meter Free Relay.

Congratulations to Kevin Park!
Based on Kevin Park’s swim performances last year, Swimming Canada has announced that Kevin has successfully qualified to receive financial support via Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program (AAP – also known as “carding”) at the Development Card level.
The funding is to support Kevin’s continued efforts to progress and improve upon his current performance levels.
Development Card holders receive a one year card of $1,060/month.
In addition, once carded, Kevin must attend and compete in their key swimming events in which they were selected for carding; at Swimming Canada competitions for which they are selected;at Swimming Canada camps for which they are selected; and the following competitions:
All Carded swimmers must compete at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials, April 3-7, 2019
if not representing Canada at the 2019 World Aquatic Championships, 2019 Pan Am Games, or the 2019 FISU Games; must attend 2019 Canadian Swimming Championships, August 5-8, 2019
Those swimmers of Canadian Junior Championship age groups, not swimming at the 7th FINA World Championships, must also compete at the 2019 Canadian Junior Championships, July 24-29, 2019.
